What is your effective treatment against eczema?
daweeney asked:
Both of my children have eczema. I’m sure if you have it too, you know the whole barrage of things you try that don’t work or don’t work well enough. I try not to use their steriod cream unless I have to which is often. I don’t want to use Protopic or Elidel b/c of the recent discussion of possibly causing cancer. I don’t want to treat them for something now to trade for something far worse in the future! What do you use or do that has been the “magic trick”? Any other non steroidal creams?

i have that . mine flares up and then sometimes im fine. iuse eucerin but i dont think there is a cure though. there r mild to extreme cases as with anything. haw bad is it?
tea tree creams and shampoos seem to help my daughters .
Both of my daughter’s have eczema. I have had to try a lot of different things to control it. I think I finally have it under as much control as I can. When I give them there bath I don’t get the water too warm, just warm enough to where they are not cold. I also don’t keep them in there long at all, the faster the better. The longer you keep them in there, the more dry there skin will be. When you dry them, try to pat dry them. This way more moisture will stay in there skin. I also don’t like to use the prescription creams. I use Eucerin calming cream on them every night, it really works if you use it every night. If they start getting some patches of dry skin, before it gets bad, I put Aquaphor healing ointment. This is almost like a Vaseline type lotion. You can get both of the cremes at Wal-mart, in the cosmetics department. They are kind of pricey, but well worth it.

Safe, effective, non-steroidal cream from It’s natural (herbal) and works great!! (if it doesn’t work - it’s free; they have money back policy)
basing on my personal experience since i also have eczema, all natural moisturizer helps a lot in soothing the itchiness and pain. since it is all natural it can not do harm on the skin. also try to know the things that your children are allergic to and try to avoid them. you may also change the course of their diet and avoid the foods that can cause flare ups. keep the skin hydrated by drinking lots of water. and boost up immune system by letting them have proper and healthy diet. visit tips for more skin care tips regarding eczema.
