    Yes, call the Dr. that prescribed the medications and tell them your situations and they can call you in something to help you out. It worked for me!

    The only medications directly linked to a increased risk of bacterial or yeast infections are antibiotics. Other medications may alter body chemistry to an extent, but are not associated with these types of infections. That said, if you are ill enough to need those drugs, your body already is in a lowered state of resistance and bacteria that normally live on the body surface can take advantage of the situation. It wouldn’t be due to the drugs or medications, but due to the overall weakened condition of the body’s defenses. If you are taking pain medications, it usually means you are not moving about as you normally would and persons not in motion are also at slightly increased risk of infection. The pepcid would alter the acidity of the stomach, but that should not have any effect on anything else. The Benadryl supresses the production of histamines, to control allergy symptoms, but as we are not allergic to the bacteria normally present on the skin, that would not have any effect on things either. The Elidel cream is associated with a higher susceptiblitiy to viral infections, not bacterial and not yeast. That would increase your risk of things like chicken pox, or shingles if you had chicken pox. If you are having difficulty with a suspected infection, you really should consult your doctor and get it treated. While the medications you list would not be contributing factors, they are also not preventatives or treatments for bacterial or yeast infections.

    anytime you take more than one medicine, there is always a chance for side effects. Usually those types of infections are side effects. Call the doc and ask for some assistance.

    Antibiotics are notorious for causing yeast infections because they tend to wipe out good germs that protect your body’s ph balance along with the bad ones. I am not sure if it’s caused by some of the meds you mentioned like percocet, vicodin, pepsid, benadryl, prednisone, etc. maybe you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist for contraindications when taking more than 1 med.
