How can i get through army basic training without my face getting red and dry? ?

RAIDEN_S asked:

My plans are to join the National guard within a few months..For a couple of years I’ve had a mild case of dry skin on my face thats been “managed” with over the counter creams, like hydrocortizone 1%, oatmeal based soap, oitment, etc…I’ve been to the dermatologist and was never diagnosed with anything but, “face dandruff” he said. He perscribed me Elidel cream and I used it and works great for me, but I’m not in need of such a hardcore med. I can survive without a flare up for almost 4 weeks but, basic training is 10 weeks. When Im ready to go through meps and the doctor see’s my face and notices nothing at all, what do I say?? My other question is..How can I get by without flarring up in the middle of bct??

I bought a very plain moisturizer that had 30 SPF sunscreen in it and I was allowed to keep it. It would need to be completely unscented and not a fancy brand.

Ask if you can take Hydrocortizone with you… if not then you will be able to go to medical the minute your face flares up at basic, they will give you some there.
